About the Washington Ruritans
The Washington Ruritan Club was started on January 27, 1958 with forty-seven character members. Today, the Washington Ruritan Club has over 55 members with one being a charter member. We are a non-profit organization. The club is divided into five service committees, each with its own project list and budget. Service Committees are as followed: Business and Professions, Citizenship and Patriotism, Environment, Public Service, and Social Development. For 2020, the club approved approximately 90 projects with a budget of $18,000 that focuses on Washington Township, Marlington Local School District, and the greater Alliance area. Projects are financed by proceeds from aluminum recycling, our food trailer at various events, annual breakfast, Taste of Alliance, Community Day Events and other events put on by members of the club.
Mission Statement: The Washington Ruritan Club is a group of like minded folks that are caring, helping, and serving our local community. |
